Edappalam - Moorkanad Bridge Declarational Inauguration
On August 15, 2010 at 3.00 PM, the dream of Edappalam and Moorkanad villagers had been come true. Under the Rural Development Fund, it has been alloted Rs 10 crore. The ceremony was inaugurated by the Minister for Local Self Government and Ruralvelopment, Mr. Paloli Mohamed Kutty presided under the chairmanship of Minister for Finance & Public Works, Dr. Thomas Isaac.
The function was blessed by Mr.M.B.Rajesh (MP), Mr.C.P Mohammed (MLA), Mr.Manjalankuzhi Ali (MLA) and Mrs Subaida Ishak (President- Palakad District)
Let us navigate through some photographs which proves that the fund has been alloted by each leading parties. Another board claims the wishes to Reserve Bank and its Governer for providing the fund.
Anyway, within 18 months, the bridge may be fulfilled, so that the students of PTM and the villagers get easy mode for transportation.

The school is managed by PMSA Pookoya Thangal memorial yatheemkhana committee, headed by Valiyapalathu Kunjumoideen Haji(Vapputty Haji).
After his death on 3-06-1999, Panakkad Sayed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal was selected as the president of the committe and he continued as the manager of the institution till his death in 2009 .The present manager is Panakkad Sayed Hydrali Shihab Thangal.
PMSA Pookoya Thangal Yatheemkhana committie under the powerful leadership of Valiyapalath Moideenkutty Hajji started an educational institution for students during 1995 near the banks of river Kunthi at Edappalam, in Vilayur panchayath.The school stands as a lighting lamp to the educationaly backward area of Palakkad. It was really a boon to this locality when the school got upgraded as Higher Secondary during 1998.
In the Higher Secondary section there are 6 batches. There are 600 above students pursuing their studies here. Around 28 teachers and 4 non teaching staffs are working in this institution with the help of a powerful parent teacher association. It stands top in all curricular co-curricular activites in pattambi sub-district .Academic perfomance of the students is excellent, and acheived Excellence Award from the district - panchayath Palakkad for the best perfomance in the plus two Examination. They are the top winners in school youth festival at the district and sub-district level.
NSS unit has undertaken many activities in our area serving the people for better life.The career guidence and councelling unit played a key note in strengthening their mental power. Tourism club of the school has helped the students to acquire knowledge about enveronment and also made them to act eco-friendly. The school is functioning for the progress of the students by maintaining strict discipline and providing politics free campus.
PTMYHSS Edappalam ,situated in an educationally backward area is now an excellent institution in Palakkad district. The school and yatheemkhana managed by the PMSA Pookoya Thangal memorial committe are doing their best to rise up to the expectation of the parents and people in the panchayath.

Edappalam
Edappalam , A small village located in the southern part of Palakkad district ( Palakkad - Malappuram border ) blessed with all aspects of nature. It is now developing in all sence of life. It has its own tradition and natural beauty. Edappalam is situated along the banks of famous river Kunthippuzha. Edappalam , one of the famous place with educational institutions starting from Lower Primary to Higher Secondary. PTM Yatheemkhana schoolis one famous institution in Kerala, which has the most efficient education even to the common people. This institution could make its own kingdom in education sector within few years. Another important feature of Edappalam is the traditional festivals like 'Kalarikkal Aaratu' and the annual 'Rayiranallur Malakayattam' which has long historical beliefs. Several ancient and historical temples and mosques are located here.
